About

The Poolesville Math Tournament (PVMT) is run by dedicated Poolesville High School students from the Poolesville Math Team. We invite middle school students of all backgrounds and skill levels to participate!

This contest is open to all rising 6th-10th graders in the country and will be held online through Zoom.

Students will compete in teams of at most 4 people. Smaller teams (of 1, 2, and 3 people) are also allowed, but note that these teams will be at a disadvantage for the team rounds because they have fewer people. There is no limit to how many teams a particular school/organization may register.

Format

Competitors will take three subject tests and a team round. The four subject tests available are Algebra/Number Theory, Geometry, and Combinatorics, and each subject test will be 40 minutes and consist of 10 problems. The team round is 50 minutes and consists of 15 problems.

Schedule

The current date for the competition is June 7, 2025. All times are in EST. We will send the Zoom link to registered participants and ask that all participants join the Zoom meeting promptly at 10:00 AM EST.
